Whats New - November 2010:

 

A new 4 week WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning) Training Course will be running within Kandahar House Centre starting on Tuesday 9th November over 4 sessions. 

 

WRAP is a self management tool to help people to better manage their own mental health and wellbeing. 

 

By developing your own WRAP it can help you to better manage and reduce difficult periods of mental ill health and low mood as and when they may arise

 

WRAP was developed by a group of people in America including a women Mary Ellen Copeland, the group  had all been dealing with a variety of psychiatric symptoms for many years.

 

WRAP is designed to:

  • Decrease and prevent troubled feelings and behaviours
  • Increase personal empowerment
  • Improve quality of life
  • Assist people to acheive their own goals and dreams

 

The dates for the training are as follows:

 

  • Tuesday 9th November
  • Tuesday 23rd November
  • Tuesday 7th December
  • Tuesday 14th December

2.30pm - 3.30pm

From Wednesday 4th August, 9.30am - 12pm within the centre we will have staff from the Brooksbank Money Advice Service coming along to give advice, support and help to people who are housing association tenants. 

 

They can assist and help you with rent arrears, money problems, outstanding debts, any issues with benefits and they can also help you apply for benefits, so to make an appointment, telephone Kristina on 01382 805071

 

This service is free and open to any housing association tenants or if you are not a housing association tenant, we can still get you advice and help, just give us a call.
