Dundee Mutual Support Group offers day time facilities and activities for people living in the community who have or have had mental health problems. The group encourages an informal and friendly atmosphere where members can feel able to relax and share their experiences and concerns if necessary. The group also gives people the opportunity to take part in activities which can help lift mood, improve wellbeing and build confidence.
Greenbuds aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals and communities by working with individuals to deliver programmes of outdoor activities of varying lengths in greenspaces around Dundee. Activities include bushcraft skills, environmental art projects, photography, conservation work and outdoor learning. Participants also have the opportunity to gain John Muir Environmental Awards – Discovery Award (introductory level) and Explorer Award (intermediate level) by discovering a wild place, exploring it, helping to conserve it and by sharing their experiences of being outdoors. Access to the project is on a referral basis and is open to those with diagnosed mental health problems and/or those struggling with factors such as low confidence/self-esteem, anxiety and low mood.
